Electrical Transformers (Distribution Transformers)

Supply, Installation, and Delivery of Distribution Transformers We supply, install, and deliver dry-type or oil-insulated distribution transformers ranging from 100 kVA to 2500 kVA, based on the electrical capacity required for the project. This includes different types of projects (industrial, commercial, residential, administrative, and tourist) and voltages (11 kV - 24 kV) across all governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt. We also handle obtaining the project’s supply approval and delivering all contents of the electrical room.
Below, we present a comparison between dry-type and oil-insulated distribution transformers. Before we begin, we would like to share our opinion based on over 20 years of practical experience with transformers, where we prefer the dry-type transformers.
First: Dry-Type Transformers Advantages: - Fire Resistance: Difficult to ignite, as they use insulating materials that can withstand temperatures up to 3000°C, which are rarely reached. - Fewer Failures: Lower likelihood of faults due to the absence of supplementary devices. - Load Capacity: Can operate at up to 120% of their rated load under suitable operating conditions. - High Resistance: Strong resistance to short circuits and high resistance to moisture. Disadvantages: - Higher Cost: Generally more expensive. - Non-Repairable: Not repairable if damaged. - Higher Noise Levels: Produces more noise compared to other types.
Second: Oil-Insulated Transformers
Advantages:
- Lower Cost: Generally less expensive.
- Repairable: All parts can be repaired if necessary.
- Lower Noise Levels: Produces less noise compared to dry-type transformers.
Disadvantages:
1.Higher Fault Rate: Greater likelihood of faults due to the presence of supplementary devices.
2.Oil Leakage: The presence of oil makes it susceptible to oil leakage issues.
3. Load Capacity: Rated for 80% load; exceeding this can lead to potential risks.
